Indian Economic Journal (IEJ) is a quarterly Journal of the Indian Economic Association. IEJ is a prominent Journal published by the IEA regularly since 1946. It is presently published by SAGE Publications, with Prof. Sukhadeo Thorat as its Editor-in-chief. It provides economists and academicians an exclusive forum for publishing their work pertaining to theoretical understanding of economics as well as empirical policy analysis of economic issues in broader context. The journal covers all the areas of economic sciences globally.

The IEJ is a double blind peer reviewed journal and publishes original research articles, research notes and book reviews on promising new theoretical developments, and comparative economic analysis.

Indian Economic Association


 Indian Economic Association is a registered body of Indian Economic  Professionals, established way back in 1917, with the objective of providing a  forum for debate and discussion of theoretical and policy oriented issues of  Economic Science. The IEA organizes annual conferences, special seminars  and lectures by eminent persons of the profession.

 The IEA has so far organized 99 annual conferences in different parts of the  country. A list of the past Presidents and the venues of the Annual  Conferences of the Association is given separately.

 The IEA is also a member of the International Economic Association. IEA has  had the privilege of organizing the World Economic Congress in collaboration  with the International Economic Association, in New Delhi, in the year 1986, at  which Nobel Laureate Professor Kenneth J. Arrow was the President of the International Economic Conference.

The IEA has currently 5000 plus members, both Individual and Institutional.

Its Secretariat is normally located at the office of the President of the Association and at the office of the General Secretary cum Treasurer of the Association.

    NSE Prize for the Best Thesis in Financial Economics

    To encourage research and disseminate cutting-edge theory and practice in the area of Capital Market, the IEA, with sponsorship from NSE, has instituted the "National Stock Exchange (NSE) Prize" for the best thesis submitted by an Indian to an Indian University or Economic Institute in financial economics with special reference to capital market in India. The NSE prize will carry an annual award of Rs. 50,000 to be given to the best thesis. The IEA invites scholars across the country for their entries. The result will be declared by a committee constituted by the IEA President in consultation with Managing Director, NSE.
