For those of you who love skateboarding, you would like to know who holds the world record for highest ollie and biggest ollie! Let me introduce you to the guy who holds the world records!
The highest ollie on flat ground was performed by Danny Wainwright of England. On February 6, 2000, he performed an ollie in the Reese Forbes Ollie Challenge at the ASR Show in Long Beach, California. His highest official ollie record is 44.5 inches. It is sponsored by Powell Skateboards and Vans. He started skating about 17 years ago. And he’s the envy of all skateboarders, myself included!
The record for biggest Ollie is held by Danny Way. He holds the world record for distance (24 meters / 79 feet) and height without assistance (7.14 meters / 23.5 feet) in skateboarding. Danny Way was also the first person to cross the Great Wall of China and land successfully.
Danny Way cleared the tallest skateboard structure ever built, the Beijing Mega Ramp™, and he broke 2 world records, speed on a skateboard and air lift on a ramp.
Although many people have attempted to jump the Great Wall of China, Danny Way is credited with being the first to jump the Great Wall without powered assistance.
Danny was also the only person to jump from a helicopter onto a vertical ramp onto a skateboard. To date, he has broken an incredible Six World Records! Among the feathers in his cap are the world records for highest air on a quarterpipe at 23 feet, 6 inches and distance on a skateboard at 79 feet! Well done Danny Way!!
